Introduction:

Duyun Maojian tea, a specialty of Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province, China, is a national geographical indication product and has been rated as one of the top ten famous teas in China. According to historical records, Duyun Maojian tea was a tribute tea during the Ming Dynasty and was highly favored by Emperor Chongzhen. In 2022, the production techniques of Duyun Maojian tea were selected as representative works of intangible cultural heritage by the UNSCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).

Duyun Maojian is mainly produced in the Tuanshan, Shaojiao, and Dacao areas of Qiannan Prefecture, Guizhou Province. The valleys here are undulating, with an altitude of kilometers, canyon streams, lush forests, and shrouded in clouds and mist. There is no severe cold in winter and no extreme heat in summer, and the four seasons are pleasant. The annual average temperature is 16 ° C, and the annual average precipitation is over 1400 millimeters. In addition, the soil layer is deep, the soil is loose and moist, and the soil is acidic or slightly acidic, containing a large amount of iron and phosphate. These special natural conditions are not only suitable for the growth of tea trees, but also form the unique style of Duyun Maojian tea.

When tea picking is busy, the Buyi and Miao women here are busy in the mountains. They wear traditional blue cloth clothes, tie aprons on their chests, embroider various patterns on the aprons, and wrap their heads in headbands made of towels. People here enjoy singing mountain songs, which come and go from the mountaintops. After a light rain, clouds and mist linger in the mountains, becoming a picturesque scenery.
