Chinese Steamed Green Tea – Enshi Yulu

The only remaining steamed green tea in China, the ancient method of making green tea, brings delicious taste to modern people. Traditional production techniques, passed down through twelve generations, are recognized as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. We are honored to invite Master Jiang Zixiang, an expert in Enshi Yulu and Yihong production and inheritor of intangible cultural heritage. Having 20 years of experience in processing steamed green tea, under the guidance of Professor Yang Shengwei, he will introduce us to the history and culture.  

Tang Dynasty Tribute Tea

Changxing, Zhejiang Province is the location of the Tang Dynasty tribute tea houses in China. The locally produced purple bamboo tea cake was once a famous tea at that time. The Tang Dynasty Tribute Tea House Museum, rebuilt on the site, also allows us to glimpse the tea culture of the Tang Dynasty. Mr. Zhang Wenhua, the inheritor of intangible cultural heritage, will explain to us the tea culture of the Tang Dynasty and the current situation of local tea production.

Hubei Province Tea

There are three important rivers in Hubei Province, with about one-third of the entire Yangtze River flowing through the province. The terrain of Hubei Province is roughly surrounded by mountains on the east, west, and north sides. The high-quality natural environment and suitable climate make Hubei have superior tea resources and historical culture. Multiple famous tea producing areas mainly produce green tea, yellow tea, black tea, and dark tea. We have invited a renowned tea company from Hubei, China to mainly introduce Hubei’s black tea, Yihong, and dark tea, Qingzhuan and Fuzhuan.

Gong Fu Cha

Chaozhou Gongfu tea ceremony is the most representative tea ceremony in China’s ancient traditional tea culture. It is a unique traditional tea drinking custom in Chaoshan area of Guangdong Province, which was established in the Qing Dynasty. People in the coastal areas liked drinking tea very much, tea was regarded as the best etiquette for guests. A complete form of tea ceremony integrating spirit, etiquette, brewing skills, tea tour art and product evaluation quality is not only a tea art, but also a folk custom. It is a symbol of “local people’s elegant habits and superb measures”. Chaozhou Gongfu tea is listed in the World Intangible Cultural Heritage. The Japanese Senchadō tea ceremony and the tea ceremony in Taiwan are all derived from Chaozhou’s Gongfu tea.

We are honored to invite Director Zhang from Shantou Chaoshan Gongfu Tea Research Institute to explain the past and present of Chaoshan Gongfu Tea to us. He has published 22 academic papers, including 5 in first tier core journals. He is the chief editor of “Gongfu Tea” and co editor of “Tea Art” and “Gongfu Tea Culture”.

Agarwood Leaf  Oolong Tea and Incense

The wild resources of agarwood are mainly distributed in Asia worldwide, and agarwood plants have good ornamental value. Agarwood has a wide range of uses, including aromatherapy and traditional Chinese medicine. It has a hard texture and is rich in oil, making it one of the preferred carving materials. It can be harvested and processed throughout the year, but artificial inoculation for fragrance is generally harvested in spring, and can be crushed or ground into fine powder when used. We have invited experts from renowned manufacturers to explain the relevant knowledge of agarwood and their unique agarwood leaf tea, which uses light fermentation oolong tea processing technology to produce decaffeinated agarwood oolong tea.

Liu Bao Dark Tea

Liubao tea, a specialty of Wuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is a Chinese national geographical indication product with a history of over 1500 years. In 2022, the production techniques of Liubao tea successfully became a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. We have invited representative producers of Liubao tea to introduce us to the tradition and innovation of Liubao tea. Based on the inheritance of traditional Liubao tea products, they have innovated a variety of new products, including Liubao blended tea with unique flavors and health benefits.

Chang Ning Black Tea

Changning black tea, a specialty of Changning County, Yunnan Province, China, is a national geographical indication product. We invited experts from the Changning Black Tea Regional Brand Association to explain the history and current situation of this millennium old tea town, including ancient tea gardens, black tea processing, brewing and drinking.

There are still over 200000 ancient tea trees preserved in Changning County, some of which are over a thousand years old, making it a true “millennium tea town”. The unique geographical advantages and excellent ecological environment provide a favorable environment for tea cultivation. After years of production practice, high-quality tea varieties have been selected and planted, and a mature tea processing technology has been formed, making Changning black tea have the characteristics of bright color, sweet and warm taste, and becoming an important component of Dianhong.

White Tea

Mr. Cai, the younger generation of enterprises that have been producing Fuding white tea for generations, he will explain the relevant knowledge of white tea, planting, processing, brewing and drinking to everyone online.
