Seminar/ World intangible cultural heritage – Traditional tea processing techniques and associated social practices in China

In November 2022, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has passed the review and included 39 traditional Chinese tea processing techniques and 5 Associated Social Practices in the world’s intangible cultural heritage. This seminar will briefly introduce these items and the meaning behind them, including the seven major categories of tea making techniques, tea art, tea food, tea ceremony, tea food and other related customs.

This marks that these tea cultures can be shared by all mankind and promote the exchange of world tea cultures. What is the profound impact on tea drinking in China and the world? How can we protect these traditions and ensure that they are passed down from generation to generation?
