Xiu Yan is a Manchu Autonomous county, Xiuyan Jade is one of the four famous jades in Chinese history, and the earliest and oldest jade species in the history of Chinese jade culture, the other three are Lantian jade in Shaanxi, Hetian jade in Xinjiang and Dushan jade in Henan). In 1983, three pieces of chopping tools made of light green jade were unearthed from the Paleolithic site 12000 years ago in Xiaogushan Xianren cave, Haicheng, Liaoning Province, which is the evidence of the earliest human use of Xiuyan Jade.
There are different jade materials in Xiu Yan, which can be divided into two categories in a broad sense: one is old jade, the unique material of which is called hemo jade, which belongs to tremolite jade, which is simple, dignified, light yellow and white in color, and is a kind of precious jade; the other is Xiuyan Jasper, which is solid and warm in texture, delicate and round, mostly green to lake green, with dark green, transparent and few flaws as treasures.
